Kash | Fall Pet Portraits at Rattlesnake Lake

It’s a common question if I only do end of life pet photography, but I also do tons of sessions with younger pets! I adore action photos and capturing playful pups in their element. Sweet boy Kash was such a gentleman for some posed photos with his mom on the trail along the lake because we knew the second we got near the water he was going to absolutely go HAM for the water and the mud. Sure enough, once we headed toward the lake he realized he was about to have his best day EVER.

Cattfink + Wily | Washington Park Arboretum Pet Photography

There are big mountain adventures… and then there are pet photography sessions at the Washington Park Arboretum — where tails wag, blossoms wave, and every frame feels like a postcard. Both types of sessions are SO much fun, but I especially love city park sessions for senior pets or pets who don’t love long car rides.

Why I’m A Force‑free Pet Photographer (and Why That Matters)

Your pet isn’t a prop, they’re your best friend. Force-free photography centers their emotional safety first, which is why the photos feel different. You can see the trust. You can feel the connection. These aren’t images created through pressure—they’re created through patience, and that matters more than a perfect pose ever could.

Adventure Dog Photography at a PNW River | Seattle Pet Photography

Every once in a while, I get to photograph a session that feels less like “posing for the camera” and more like witnessing pure connection. That’s exactly how it felt when I spent the evening with Backup, Chaos, and their incredible mom at a riverbank framed by mountain views and towering evergreens. The backdrop? A perfect Pacific Northwest sunset that painted the sky in golds and pinks. The heart of it all? The undeniable bond between a woman and her dogs.

Gig Harbor Pet Photography | Kitsap Peninsula Adventures

As the sun slipped lower, golden light filtered through the evergreens, wrapping Ramona in a soft glow. She rested for a moment on a mossy log, staring softly at her humans as if to say, this is enough, just being here together. That image—dog, humans, and forest in harmony—felt like the truest portrait of all.

Rattlesnake Lake Sunset Photoshoot Adventure with Spike

As a Tacoma pet photographer who specializes in outdoor sessions, I’m always scouting for locations that offer both natural beauty and enough space for pets to let loose. Rattlesnake Lake is a favorite for a reason: towering evergreens, clear water, and mountain views that catch golden hour just right. It’s the dream backdrop for Rattlesnake Lake sunset portraits—and it was the perfect setting for Luna’s high-energy personality.

West Seattle Pet Portraits in the Ferns with Zeke

Some dogs don’t just walk through life—they persevere through it, tail wagging and heart wide open. That’s exactly the spirit Zeke brought to our sunset session at Lincoln Park in West Seattle. With only one eye and three legs, this senior sweetheart is the definition of resilience, and as a photographer with an epic soft spot for seniors, I was honored to capture his quiet strength among the ferns and evergreens of one of Seattle’s most peaceful coastal parks.

Oscar + Lucas | Rattlesnake Lake Sunset Portraits

There are lots of reasons to invest in professional pet photography, but the most important one is this: your pet is family. Doodle Pet Portraits | Gig Harbor Pet Photography

These two aren’t twins, but they might as well be! Cooper and Valkyrie joined their mom and dad on an adventure at Gold Creek Pond, and had the best time!
