Labradors Gonna Labrador

If I could sum up Timber in just one word, it would be JOY. This gorgeous man embodied the happiness that typically radiates off labs and lab mixes. He could not have been more thrilled when we started down the trail toward the river and he realized 1) I had entire cornucopia of treats in my bag for him, and 2) his moms had brought his Moose toy. River adventure, snacks, AND MR. MOOSE?? Perfect, perfect, perfect.

Dog-friendly Rivers Near Tacoma

The areas around the Snoqualmie River are some of my favorite places to take you and your pups on a river adventure! There are three rivers that split off the main route, creating endless opportunities for dog-friendly adventures. The river is crispy cold year round, but in summer and fall it quiets down and there are tons of little spots to stop and take short trails to gentle river beds with lovely views of our evergreen trees, and sometimes even big mountain views! One of my favorite spots has been popular with clients this year, and for good reason! The trail is short and gentle for our senior friends, and the river moves slowly and has lots of shallow areas for pups who might be a little unsure of water. Have a water-obsessed pup? There are deep swimming areas perfect for fetch! If you’re looking for river pet portraits near Tacoma, I know just the place….message me below and I’ll take you there!

Best Gift for Dog Lovers

Most of my clients book their sessions for themselves, but I also often get booked for gift sessions! Timbers moms are a pet-obsessed family, and C just knew that gifting a professional pet portrait session to her girlfriend and Timber would be the perfect birthday gift. I had recently done portraits for her friend (which happened to also be a surprise engagement!) who told her she just had to hire me (thank youuuu!!!) and the rest was history.

Timber and his mama were so excited when I pulled up and she was just beaming ear to ear. One of my favorite things about being a professional pet photographer is meeting your dogs of course, but also meeting people who are just as dog-obsessed as me! We had the best evening watching Timber launch himself into the river, carry his Moose around in just about every single photograph, splash us all with river water (I swear he was smiling after), and chasing his toy all over the riverbank. Timber and his mama had some snuggles in the sunset while I quietly captured their incredible bond, making sure to capture memories that they can look back on with happiness.
