Sunset Pet Portraits at Rattlesnake Lake

This handsome guy is Fuzzy, who is—as his name implies—the softest doodle I've ever met. We're talking bunny rabbit fur over here, people! ⁠

This sweet boy and his just-as-sweet parents are moving to Australia and wanted portraits that captured their love for Fuzzy and the beauty of the PNW. Lucky for them, that's exactly what I do! We met up at Rattlesnake Lake, a beautiful lake surrounded by evergreens near Snoqualmie, Washington. Rattlesnake Lake is one of my favorite spots for outdoor adventure pet photography near Tacoma because it is 1) STUNNING, 2) accessible for both pets and people with mobility needs, 3) the water is relatively warm for the PNW, and 4) in the fall and winter, huge old-growth stumps emerge from the lake as it gets lower, creating stunning portraits.

Fuzzy and his family explored the lake just before sunset and had such a great time, playing, sniffing the flowers, and snuggling. Fuzzy even got in the water 🤯 which, I was informed, is not normally his cup of tea! I love when pups are so comfortable that they want to explore and play, and I love that his parents got to enjoy this day with him.

Off-leash NOT Required!

Fuzzy’s portraits are a perfect example of what I mean when I say being an off-leash dog isn't required to get your portraits done with me! Fuzzy wore a collar, leash, and harness during his session with me and you’d never know it! About 80% of my clients are on leashes with collars and/or harnesses. Leash/collar/harness removals are included free of charge when you choose your images. You also don't need to have collars removed! When you see collars/leashes on in the photos on my website and social media, that's because their parent has specifically requested it stay in the photos, typically due to an emotional tie to it. So, want portraits of your pup looking like they're running free but they're actually safely on leash? I'm your girl!
