May | Gold Creek Pond Snowy Photoshoot
Lifestyle Pet Photography That Captures Your Family's Real Moments
Have you ever tried to capture the perfect photo of your pet, only to find yourself caught in a whirlwind of zoomies and mud-caked paws? If so, you're in good company. I delight in these unscripted moments when dogs are unapologetically themselves. Whether it's a joyful tumble in the snow or a playful wrestle, these candid scenes are what make lifestyle pet photography so profoundly meaningful.
Pet Photography with Heart
Many pet parents dream of perfect portraits, fearing that their dog's playful nature might ruin the shot. However, it's this very spontaneity that breathes life into the images. My approach to outdoor adventure pet photography isn't about forcing stillness but celebrating the vibrant, chaotic love that defines your relationship with your dog. When you're out on a snowy trail and your furry friend knocks you over in excitement, it's in those joyful collisions that we find the heart of the story. Have a bubbles-obsessed dog? Yeah, we’re going to bring those bubbles into the mountains and capture the unapologetic dog of a dog in the snow playing bubbles with her dad.
Gold Creek Pond Winter Hiking
One of the most popular trails for winter hiking with dogs is Gold Creek Pond near Snoqualmie Pass. This 2.8 mile loop trail has low elevation gain, a stunning pay off (just look at that mountain view above!!), and is snow-covered in the winter, making for the perfect dreamy pet portraits. This trail is completely closed off for recreation from April 1-November 30 every year, so the small window of snow we get in the winter is the best (and only!) time to enjoy this gorgeous spot. This hike is perfect for young dogs who love to play, puppies who are still getting their snowshoes on, and senior dogs who need an easier trail with just as much beauty as the hard ones.
