Professional Pet Portraits Among the Ferns
You’ve heard of the beautiful Juniper bush and Aspen tree, both of which we have here in the PNW, but I might just prefer this Juniper and Aspen! Their mom works in forestry (no surprise there!) and wanted a portrait session that included both her dog and cat, and embraced the gorgeous forests we are lucky to enjoy.
We met on a misty morning near the Middle Fork River just outside of Snoqualmie and started on a quiet trail through the towering evergreens. We made our way to the riverbank and delighted in the cool fog of the morning along the water while I captured portraits of Juniper gently exploring the river rocks. Aspen, being very much a cat, did not partake in the river festivities.
After playing by the river, we moved back into the forest to find dappled sunlight and my favorite—a fern forest. Give me dogs and ferns any day of the week and I. AM. THRILLED.

One of my favorite things about being a Tacoma-based pet photographer is just how many amazing trails we have available to us! River trails are some of my favorites for older dogs, for cats who don’t want a long hike, or for anyone who loves the sounds and views that come with our rocky, evergreen-lined rivers.
