Whippets and Greyhounds, Oh My! | Cannon Beach, Oregon Coast Pet Photography
The Oregon coast is one of my favorite places in the entire world. From the “bustling” Cannon Beach to the much quieter Pacific City, there is truly an Oregon coast town for everyone. If you’ve ever wondered if the Oregon coast would work for pet portraits, let me tell you: it couldn’t be more perfect!! I love traveling, and getting to take portraits in one of my favorite places was an absolute dream.
I met Vinnie and Lincoln and their two lovely humans in Pacific City, Oregon for their portrait session. Despite it being a chilly day and greyhounds and whippets not being known for cold weather, these two boys had a blast on the beach. We kept it moving to keep them warm and entertained, and went through what felt like 10 lbs of treats (an entire pocket full!) during our session. I always joke that I pay my models well, and these two boys definitely got their fair share of snacks!
Doing a pet photography session on the Oregon Coast gives you a little bit of everything: wide sandy beaches, beautiful rock formations, stunning evergreen trees, rocky coastline, and roiling blue waters. And Oregon beaches are open to the public and off-leash dog friendly (for well-behaved pups). Need to stay on a leash? The coast is perfect for that, too! You might not believe it but Vinnie and Lincoln were on leash for their ENTIRE session. Gotta love the magic of editing. :)
