Kirin the Saluki| North Bend, Middle Fork River Pet Photography

Imagine this: the gentle rush of the river, the whisper of the wind through the trees, and the most majestic Saluki you’ve ever seen, striking a pose like they're on the cover of Doggie Vogue. It's all possible, and it's all right here in the heart of nature's playground.

But before we dive into the details of our pet photography adventure, let's take a moment to appreciate one of the most majestic breeds to ever grace our presence – the Saluki. With their sleek, slender bodies and elegant demeanor, Salukis are often referred to as the "royal hounds of the East." Originating from ancient Egypt, these regal canines are known for their speed, grace, and unwavering loyalty to their humans. They’re also incredibly silly and filled with personality—my favorite!

Now, picture this stunning sight: a Saluki gracefully bounding through the evergreens, their silky coat shimmering in the sunlight as they race towards the river's edge dotted with moss-covered rocks and the most stunning teal water. It's a sight to behold, and one that I was lucky enough to capture during my session with Kirin and his mom.

As I set up my camera and prepared to immortalize these moments of canine charm, we couldn't help but be in awe of the natural beauty that surrounded us. From the towering trees to the rocky riverbanks, every element seemed to come together to create a truly enchanting atmosphere.

And then, of course, there was Kirin – my furry muse who stole the show with his boundless energy, infectious enthusiasm, stoic yet silly personality, and gorgeous good looks. Whether he was splashing in the shallows, climbing onto moss-covered rocks, or softly padding down the trail along the river, Kirin had a fantastic time in the forest with his mom, and I was lucky enough to capture it all.
